Art, Activism & Equity: A Retrospective on San Francisco’s Cultural Evolution

This event, co-sponsored by the San Francisco Public Library (more info here https://sfpl.org/events/2024/06/01/presentation-art-activism-equity) and funded by an Individual Artist Grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission, and a Major Project grant from the Arts Research Institute at UC Santa Cruz will feature artists, Annie Sprinkle, Beth Stephens, Pam Peniston, Idris Ackamoor, Marie Acosta, and grantwriter Jeff Jones. Together we will discuss the roots of cultural equity in San Francisco, and tell the story of how this arts in SF have influenced arts funding and practice across the nation.
